Visit Left of the Lake Gallery during NEW HOURS (begins Sept. 25). Fridays, 5pm-Closing, Saturdays, 11:00am-5:00pm, and Sundays, Noon to 4:00pm. On exhibit through October 8th, the art of Matthew Holt, whose work demonstrates the beauty found in the so-called mundane aspects of life--the basement laundry and the upstairs kitchen--along with breathtaking scenes of nature. Also, through October 8th, an open exhibit of work by other local artists.
October Exhibit: Monster, the Voodoo Show
Step into the gallery to view paintings, drawings, and dolls, created by local and regional artists who interpret voodoo, both through its pop-culture caricature, as seen on TV and film, and through the voodoo traditions themselves, which are devoid of black magic and witchcraft and instead teach of interactive world of the the visible and the invisible. Exhibit on display from October 14 through November 5.
